A CERTIFICATE THAT ANYONE CAN EARN
AND NO ONE CAN LOSE
COMMUNICATES NOTHING.
Module 17 concludes the KORT programme by establishing the credentialing system that makes competence verifiable, maintainable, and trustworthy.
MODULE OVERVIEW
Scalp micropigmentation has no credentialing infrastructure. The standard path is a 2–4 day training course ending with a certificate of completion—attendance, not competence. No standardised examination, no tiered credentials, no continuing education, no recertification.
The consequence is a credentialing market that communicates nothing meaningful. A practitioner with a 2-day online certificate and one with 5 years of supervised practice hold credentials that appear identical to clients.
KORT fills this vacuum with a competency-based credentialing system where certification means demonstrated performance, verified by structured assessment, maintained through continuing development, and renewed through evidence of sustained competence.
A certificate that anyone can earn by attending a course and that no one can lose by failing to maintain competence communicates nothing. Certification has value only when it is difficult to earn, meaningful to hold, and possible to lose.
The SMP Credentialing Vacuum
The standard path into SMP is a 2–4 day course ending with a certificate of completion—attendance, not competence. No standardised examination. No tiered credentials. No continuing education. No recertification. No external verification.
The consequence: a credentialing market communicating nothing meaningful. A practitioner with a 2-day certificate and one with 5 years of supervised practice hold credentials that appear identical to clients.
A certificate that anyone can earn by attending a course and no one can lose communicates nothing. Certification has value only when difficult to earn, meaningful to hold, and possible to lose.
